"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it.
You surround yourself with people who make you laugh.
Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't.
Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

Julefrid *** Christmas- A Peaceful Time

*The colored text below will link you to related blog entries

The peaceful Christmas feeling came to the Kjeller household in the end. The end of December is a tough time for me. Three years ago, on the day, I received my diagnosis- I had been to that mammogram two weeks earlier. Cancer at the age of 37. What? Now I feel a bit sick and depressed every year at this time but thankfully I love Christmas and all the preparations and those cosy feelings win. On top of it I had a MRI Brain scan to do this December- to check the growth of the benign tumor I have there (last years discovery due to dizziness). I couldn't even write a blog entry about it, I was terrified they would find new little malignant bastards in my brain, now when I am finally starting to feel strong and good again. I couldn't relax and let the guard against the cancer down- it felt like f I did it would hit me with full force from behind. But I decided there and then, laying trapped in that horrifying machine with the head fastened- if the result is good I deserve a medal. I will celebrate another mile stone on this disgusting journey.
Bloddy hell- I have faught so much these three years!!
I really had no clue how sick
I was. Christmas Bazaar at work.
The day before the bleeding breast.
Life is strange. Full of cancer and
absolutely didn't know.
I miss life before cancer!
Christmas Eve 2009- I cried all day.
I knew I had cancer.
My body and mind were screaming it.
People told me lumps in the breast
are usually not to worry about.
I will be fine. I wasn't.
Three days later I had my diagnosis.
Please note: most lumps in the breasts
ARE nothing to worry about!

And the result was good! No new discoveries and the benign tumor isn't growing. I received the answer within a week. I could relax and celebrate Christmas!! (Well, if we disregard my sons diabetes type 1 that is. That illness is a full time job and Per and I don't sleep one full night. But that is a story to tell in a completly different blog).

Love, cuddles and kisses
Peace, snow and candles

More love, cuddles and kisses

What the f...?!

Before Christmas I met, my own initiative, a very knowledgable physiotherapist and an orthoped- technician. Both of them nodded as if they knew what I was talking about when I described my pain in the legs below the knee and my feet (heels, tissue).
"If you only knew how common this issue is for cancer (read chemo) treated patients. The feet and the surrounding tissue really suffer. It takes a long time to heal, if ever. The nerve pain we might not be able to help you with but the heels we can". What the F...? All the crap I've had to take from certain people claiming I'm only simulating the pain, all the times I've been in despair this year because I'm not able to walk or exercise- why haven't anyone told me it's common for us that have been on chemo?!!!!!!!! The pain is so intense that I cry every morning I stumble out of bed- for 10 bloody months! Damn it! Yes, I am angry but at the same time I realize how strong I've become in order to handle that and everything else and still feel that I am progresing in my rehabilitation.
My feet are finally getting treatment from professionals that know what they are doing! Ultra sound treatment against the plantar fasciitis (caused by inflamed tissue due to chemo and overstrain). I am on my way, I am on my way...

Vad finns i klappen "År 2013"? Ska bli spännande att öppna!
What is inside my Christmas gift "The Year 2013". Exciting to reveal.
