"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it.
You surround yourself with people who make you laugh.
Forget the bad and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't.
Life is too short to be anything but happy. Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

Ett Brev Från Mig Själv*** A Letter From Myself

Carpe Diem, finaste.
Jag är med dig, alltid.
Många Kramar
Mig Själv

Dearest Annika- Myself, My Everything,
I have been thinking so much about you lately. About the life that was and the life that became. You fight so hard in this life that became, every day and every minute. A smile is expensive, one positive thought you need to pay million mental thought dimes for. I happen to know that you do this no matter what, because the life that became is really yours- the only life you have. You are allowed to be happy for real, to laugh that bubbling belly laughter, you can feel lucky without guilt, you have the right to live life to it's fullest.
I know that Mrs Cancer is there like a shadow in the night. She jumps out behind a corner and frightens you like hell. Let her do that. Accept it. Cry, just cry your heart out. You don't have to be ashamed to cry. It's ok. Let your body finally relax and cry out the pain. It has been such a difficult year and you must keep in mind to have strength left to handle the upcoming years until you are declared well and cured.
After 1,5 years the chemo treatment is soon over and your body can begin a total recovery. It will be fine, dear. It must!
Tripple Negative is a mean fellow and now your battle begins at another level to defeat a relapse. The battle without medical treatment. A battle only you can fight with positivism, mental training, healthy food and exercise. You can do it- because I know that you want to do it!
I also know that every time you sing in that choir you chase a few, possible cancer cells away from your body. Fresh blood runs through your veins, you forget everything and enjoy life just as it is. Carpe Diem, my love.
I am with you, for ever.
Lots of love,
Myself

Inget Funnet*** Nothing Found

Heja livet!

I am back from the walk in the fog in the Valley of Anxiety. Everything is fine, perfect blood test results and no new lumps found. It makes me shiver every time the oncologist, with the tip of his/her fingers, feels for lumps along my throat/ neck, over my collar bones, in my arm pits, my scar and remaining breast. "Please, please, please don't find anything, don't find ANYTHING!"
Over again, I got an answer to my question if I am imagining all the side effects such as menopause, zero appetite, "normal" every day nausea, fatigue. No, it's not in my imagination, it's real, very much so. Good, great, thanks! I have accepted that and the alternative- to stop medicating with the chemo tablets is not an alternative for me. I will continue. Cheers To Life!

Ah, the past few months Mr Anxiety has obviously borrowed Harry Potter's invisible cloak and placed himself on my shoulder without me knowing. In my stupidity I thought I overcame him, or at least diminished him. My Health Care For The Soul appointment this past Friday pulled the cloak off Mr Anxiety and he revealed his true self. Wonderful Madeleine that helps me to see things clearly! I had no idea that anxiety can appear as physical signs / well, or at least I ignored it: dizziness, tunnel vision, heavy nausea and shortness of breath. Yes, I have death anxiety and it was very strong last week. A death anxiety that I need to work on and bring out in the open. Yeeha!
I better get started. Crap like that needs to go. Sometimes I wish I could just brake down and cry, not hold everything together and be so strong all the time. Dearest Annika, it isn't healthy to lock that kind of anxiety inside your body and mind!
Well, after this depressing update I do want to tell you that this evening I felt very much alive and happy. I had choir practise. I love to sing!
Tomorrow it is that time again- to meet he Oncologist. Cancer or not cancer, that is the question? Maybe I will sing on my way there, it might reduce the heavy nausea!
To end with, I give you a close up on a cancer cell that I found through an article Jennifer Griffin posted on her blog. I must say that I think it looks dangerously beautiful- in similarities with the Black Widow. It will become the first painting I will produce in my cancer series- time to rehabilitate myself from death anxiety!

Finns Det Något Positivt Med Cancer?***Is There Anything Positve With Cancer?

No, there isn't! It's a fucking shit illness, sly and horrible.
However, I would like to state that there can be positive outcomes from the complete life crisis a cancer diagnosis gives you.
Linda's death in this cruel illness has made my thoughts spin. Not only from death anxiety (yes of course I've had that this week!). At first I felt so guilty that she had to die and that I'm still here, alive. Who is to decide that? Mr Coincidence or Mrs Destiny?
After a while the guilt emotion passed to a feeling of happiness. Wow, I am actually alive! In a sate of limbo maybe- a relapse could be lurking around the corner- but I am alive. I will live for real no matter how long that is! And you know what, that is a positive outcome of carrying Mrs Cancer around on my shoulder all the time. Believe it or not.
At least that is the case for me and my family. We laugh and play more than ever (we have always laughed) but now it is for real, often and a lot. We laugh at cancer and diabetes- that is our only way to cope with the crisis we've been/ still are in for more than a year now. We make up our own lyrics and dance to the Eurovision Song Contest songs and "goof out". You could say that we are alive in a way we've never been. To be Quality Alive.
As a human being we always rush forward, on to something new further away. This week I discovered that I don't have to rush anymore. I live exactly the life I wished for, here and now (well, Mrs Cancer is not included! But she is not my choice, she is out of my control).
I have a wonderful family and relatives, great friends, a fun and stimulating job with cool colleagues, a house that represents us- situated on the best street ever with lovely neighbours, choir, hobbies that expands every day, a total piece in my soul- my very old soul, a 80 year old's wisdom and life experience. Today I am extremely GRATEFUL for my life!

This photo was taken while we were getting ready for Max's 4th birthday party. We were all dressed up as goblins (troll). More of this, Kjeller Family!
